Axiomtek released its energy-efficient 1U desktop network appliance platform, the NA350C, powered by the low-power Intel Atom processor x6425E (code name Elkhart Lake) for firewall, VPN, SD-WAN, and 5G gateway applications. The NA350C offers either seven RJ-45 or five RJ-45 with two SFP, that support Ethernet bandwidth and rich customization services. It is delivered with Wi-Fi 6, LTE, and 5G modules with two SIM slots for wireless module connectivity.
 

IMAGO Technologies released its Vision Cam XM2 Line Scan, an intelligent embedded line scan camera system combining line scan technology, intelligent image processing, and AI vision in a compact design. NVIDIA’s ORIN System-on-a-Chip provides enhanced computing power for complicated image processing utilizing a high-resolution 2.5k sensor and customizability options making it ideal for applications including continuous materials, pharmaceuticals, packaging, food, and printing.

South Burlington Vermont. OnLogic introduced a new AI consulting service in which AI experts work closely with customers for AI customization and design. "We've heard from customers that they see real business value in implementing AI solutions, but they're often not sure where to start. Insights from a trusted advisor can help them pull the pieces together," said Michael Kleiner, VP of Edge AI Solutions at OnLogic.

Littelfuse, Inc. announced an update to its C&K Switches KSC2 Sealed Tactile Switch product line with Precise Electrical Height. The KSC2 series is ideal for surface-mount technology (SMT) and is IP67-rated with 3.5 mm high momentary-action tactile switch featuring a soft actuator.

Silicon Motion announced the SM2508, a PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2.0 client SSD controller for AI PCs and gaming consoles. According to the company, it is the first PCIe Gen5 client SSD controller using TSMC’s 6nm EUV process, offering a 50% reduction in power consumption compared to competitive offerings in the 12nm process. It consumes less than 7W of power while providing 1.7 times the power efficiency of PCIe Gen4 SSDs and up to 70% better efficiency than other PCIe Gen5 SSDs on the market.

During The Future of Memory and Storage Conference, Hammerspace will showcase its Global Data Platform that is billed as a vendor-neutral solution for AI data environments designed to accelerate existing storage to achieve the performance needed for GPU-based workloads using current infrastructure without the need to install proprietary client software.

Expanding its RISC computing lineup, AAEON introduced the rugged SRG-IMX8PL Mini PC and the PICO-IMX8PL 2.5” PICO-ITX board utilizing the NXP i.MX 8M Plus platform, leveraging a quad-core Arm Cortex-A53 processor and a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that delivers up to 2.3 TOPS.

Munich, Germany. The Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies (SGET) introduced SMARC (Smart Mobility ARChitecture) Specification V2.2 which focuses on maintenance revisions and guarantees that the SMARC standard meets the evolving needs of the embedded computing market. SMARC V2.2 presents updates developed to boost functionality, compatibility, and reliability of SMARC modules used in applications including industrial automation, transportation, medical devices, and IoT solutions.

Thief River Falls, Minnesota. DigiKey announced a portfolio expansion in the first two quarters of 2024, featuring the addition of more than 150 new suppliers and over 340,000 new products across its DigiKey Marketplace and Fulfilled by DigiKey. Suppliers added include AEM, FLEXEMATIC, Faulhaber, Nexcom, and Pacific Lasertec.

Tokyo, Japan. eSOL now supports the Arm Cortex-R82AE, highlighting enhancements utilizing virtual prototypes of Arm's leading Automotive Enhanced IP under Arm Virtual Hardware (AVH), developed by Corellium. Arm's Cortex-R82AE processor, implementing the 64-bit ISA, is designed for applications requiring advanced real-time control while ensuring system functional safety. With the ability to run eMCOS POSIX on the Cortex-R82AE and Arm’s Cortex-A processors, eMCOS POSIX becomes a scalable OS, supporting microcontrollers to high-end SoCs, making it optimal for mission-critical systems.

Bellevue, Washington. Graid Technology and OSNexus recently announced a new certification for SupremeRAID, enabling integration with OSNexus QuantaStor. With GPU acceleration, SupremeRAID enhances SSD performance and usable capacity, delivering an 8x to 10x performance gain over traditional hardware and software RAID through its patented out-of-path technology that separates control and data paths.

Eurotech released its Everyware GreenEdge for AWS Marketplace, an advanced software solution that streamlines the management of Edge computing and AIoT deployments. The solution was designed to address the challenges of development and enrollment, while implementing security standards like zero-trust architectures as well as compliance with cybersecurity guidelines such as EU’s NIS 2 Directive and Cyber Resilience Act, the US IoT Cybersecurity Improvement Act, and more commonly used security frameworks.

Cincoze released its rugged, palm-sized (150 x 105 x 52.3 mm), and power-efficient DA-1200 that leverages the Intel N97 processor (Alder Lake-N) designed for IIoT gateways in industrial applications such as collecting device data, performing edge computing, and transmitting data between devices and cloud services. 

Throughout the last year, CXL vendors have attracted interest from IT organizations by promising products that deliver increased memory bandwidth and capacity for applications that require significant memory. Announcements for CXL memory modules and software support have come from MemVerge, Red Hat, and VMware. The final piece needed to provide customers with CXL technology is the availability of servers.

The kits are developed to aid professionals and hobbyists in meeting challenges associated with the advance development of specialized projects. The Arduino PRO offers tools such as advanced microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.

Los Angeles, California. Premio Inc. finalized the confirmation of Inductive Automation's "Ignition Ready" software on select rugged Touchscreen Panel PCs and Edge Computers. The computers will carry the "Ignition Ready” certification badge to verify they have been certified to work with Inductive Automation's "Ignition Ready" software. According to Premio, the Ignition software is not included in the device purchase and requires “Ignition Ready” licenses sold from Inductive Automation.
