It was a couple of months ago, but it feels like yesterday that I was at the Advantech World Partner Conference, held at the company’s headquarters in Taiwan. As a refresher, the event is held live, in-person, but much of the content is captured and available virtually after the fact.

Next-generation applications require extraordinary processing power and agility to bring about the potential needed for critical use cases using AI, such as smart service robotics, industrial automation, healthcare, or high-speed testing.

As all forms of manufacturing become ever more automated, and creep closer to zero-touch, dark factory floors with little or no human intervention needed, those industrial enterprises are going to need sophisticated compute able to handle machine learning, AI and command and control at the Intelligent Edge. Efficient Edge computing requires high-powered processing paired with robustness, resiliency, and reliability. Without those elements, the whole system is likely to break down, figuratively and literally, at the slightest pressure. It’s also quite likely to get hacked.

Advantech’s Embedded-IoT World Partner Conference (WPC) will host collaborators all around the world to help shape the future of embedded and emerging business technology. From November 30 – December 2, 2023, the WPC will be held in Linkou Taiwan and will examine a broad range of topics including AIoT, EV infrastructure, robotics, and more.

Windows is well known as one of the more stable and reliable OS choices for embedded and industrial applications, but it’s traditionally only run on machines that are powered by x86 processors. That isn’t the case anymore, and it’s time to start thinking of bringing the advantages of Windows onto your Arm-powered machines.
