Diamond Systems, a company that’s known for its compact, rugged systems for real-time applications, released its Universal Driver 7.0 software toolkit recently at Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany. The toolkit, which represents a significant upgrade over previous versions, is aimed at data acquisition products. It offers faster interrupt processing than previous versions, and its easy-to-use graphical interface simplifies programming and saves development time.
The software provides flexible C programming language support for the company’s products with on-board data acquisition. It contains a set of functions aimed at controlling the following hardware features:
- Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversions
- High- and low-speed analog-to-digital sampling
- Digital I/O
- Counters and timers
- Pulse-width modulators
- Waveform generator
- Watchdog timers
- Interrupts
An installation program allows for easy detection and configuration of system modules. An intuitive graphical control panel for Windows and Linux is provided, as well as a robust set of demo programs.
