Actian launched its new Actian Zen embedded database that sustains edge applications and analytics with a single, secure, modular and scalable platform. Zen provides business-critical services across many operating environments including Android and iOS phones, medical sensors and surveillance drones.

Actian Zen unites mobile and IoT devices with gateways, the cloud and customary on-premise databases. It also integrates with a wide range of programming languages, providing common APIs and a single database throughout a variety of data types, deployment targets and projects to diminish danger and simplify functionality.  

Actian Zen’s new features include the following:

• EXIF data structure
• JSON and BLOB support
• Time-series data support
• 64TB single file size
• Quadrupled block size for faster data transfer between devices, gateways and cloud environments
• AES 256-bit, military-grade encryption
