NewTec GmbH, specialist for safety-relevant electronic systems, introduces NTSecureNode highly secure sensor nodes for IoT applications. As part of the IoT solution and service platform NTSecureCloudSolutions, they help device manufacturers implement secure IoT applications.

Digitization and the Universal Internet of Things (IoT) make it possible to exploit a variety of different data in an innovative way - for example, to optimize production, logistics and maintenance (Industry 4.0), vehicle fleet or energy management (eg smart metering , Monitoring wind turbines) or health care (eg monitoring of clinical data). In all these cases, it is important to securely connect the distributed, often wireless, IoT devices to the IoT infrastructure and the cloud-based systems involved.

The new NTSecureNodes from NewTec combine the data from various sensors (temperature, gyroscope, acceleration, air pressure, humidity, light), buffer, compress and filter them as needed and transmit them encrypted to the IoT gateway. The devices have six inputs (4 x digital, 2 of them frequency-capable, 2 x analogue) and two digital outputs. The transmission parameters such as transmission intervals can be freely configured using an app. NewTec offers individual application development for special requirements.

NewTec's IoT devices are characterized by their high standard of security. Security features include end-to-end encryption and secure over-the-air firmware and bootloader updates.

NewTec has two different versions of its safe sensor nodes in the program: The NTSecureNode NB 100 is optimized for mobile applications, for example on vehicles, and offers a robust housing with CAN and RS485 interface, GPS positioning and networking via mobile communications (LTE). The NTSecureNode BLE 200 was developed for stationary use in industry and critical infrastructures. It supports wireless networking via Bluetooth and WLAN and has an integrated power supply.

The NTSecureNode devices are part of NewTec's comprehensive IoT solution and service platform NTSecureCloudSolutions, which helps device manufacturers implement innovative and secure cloud-based products and services. The platform includes hardware, software and services and covers the entire lifecycle of an IoT product: from brainstorming, target, market and business field analysis, to product development and architectural concept, to integration, maintenance and managed services. NewTec will introduce the new platform at embedded world from February 27 to March 1, 2018 in Nuremberg (booth 4A-501).
