Microchip Technology announced the release of the Switchtec PFX PCIe 5.0 family, what the company is calling the world’s first PCle 5.0 solutions.
The family doubles interconnected performance for dense compute, high-speed networking and NVMe storage.
Combined with the XpressConnect retimers, the company is the industry’s sole supplier of both PCle Gen 5 switches and PCIe Gen 5 retimer products.
The family is comprised of switches that support 28-100 lanes and up to 48 non-transparent bridges (NTBs). Further, PCle 5.0 data rates of 32 GT/s are featured, in addition to signal integrity and system topologies that present development and debug challenges. Because of this, Switchtec PFX PCIe 5.0 switch provides a suite of debug and diagnostic features including internal PCIe analyzers supporting Transaction Layer Packet (TLP) generation, and analysis and on-chip non-obtrusive SerDes eye capture capabilities.
According to the company, ChipLink supports rapid system bring-up and debug. ChipLink is a GUI based device configuration and topology viewer that gives full access PFX PCIe switch’s registers, counters, diagnostics and forensic capture capabilities.
