THine Solutions, Inc. introduced their new THEIA-CAM family of Camera Reference Design Kits. The foundational kit is the THSCU101, a 13 megapixel Phase-Detection Auto-Focus (PDAF) USB Video Class (UVC) camera Reference Design Kit.
The THEIA-CAM kits improve on the Ascella Kit previously introduced by THine and Cypress to deliver full HD and UHD performance for live video streaming applications.
The THSCU101 Kit is based on THine’s THP7312 16 MP image signal processor (ISP), Sony’s IMX258 13MP CMOS PDAF image sensor, and Cypress’ EZ-USB® CX3 USB3.0 camera controller. The main camera board is1.4” x 1.4” and comes pre-installed in a protective clear case along with a USB cable. This allows for flexible integration.
The kit also provides users with:
- Optimized ISP firmware that compensate for camera variations and USB control firmware
- Reference circuit schematics
- Scalability for high image quality in production.
Further customization of the kit performance is easily achievable using THine’s GUI based Software development tools. The THSCU101 accelerates customers’ time-to-market without high initial costs for developing embedded camera systems.
The Kit enables plug-and-play operation, and it includes firmware optimized for all USB camera functions, significantly shortening development time.
The THEIA-CAM family of Kits address a wide range of camera appplications:
- Bodycams
- Machine Vision Systems
- Surveillance Cameras
- Medical Scopes
- Barcode Reading Devices
- Vision Assistance and AR Glasses
- Biometric Devices
- Microscopes
- Document Scanners.
