IoT Tech Expo: True value of IoT, 5G, Blockchain, AI, Big Data and Cloud lies in their convergence - and cyber security underpins their pote
September 16, 2019
Press Release
No technology exists in a vacuum, and the true value of emerging technologies lies in their convergence.
Pat Gelsinger, the CEO of VMware, calls them tech 'superpowers' - good on their own, but stronger together. This convergence can also be seen as a cycle; for instance, cloud enables mobile connectivity; 5G makes the connectivity faster; mobile and 5G creates more data; more data makes the AI better; AI enables more edge and IoT use cases; and edge requires more cloud to store the data and do the computing.
This can be seen in various research studies and updates where technologies are seen in concert rather than individually. The World Economic Forum recently launched global councils across IoT, blockchain, AI and others as part of the wider 'fourth industrial revolution.'
IoT News recently reported that "phenomenal growth in the blockchain IoT market is to exceed well over two billion by 2024" with the market set to reach just over $3bn (£2.21bn). What's more, as IoT security concerns rise, the importance of cyber security is becoming even more apparent. The cyber security industry is said to have the capability to reach a $1 trillion value by 2020. GII Research also predicted the AI market is estimated to grow from USD 419.7 million in 2014 to USD 5.05 billion by 2020, at a CAGR of 53.65% from 2015 to 2020.
With this in mind, the co-located technology event series, the IoT Tech Expo, Blockchain Expo, AI & Big Data Expo, Cyber Security & Cloud Expo and 5G Expo will explore each of these technologies, its leading players and trends, and their influence on the ongoing fourth industrial revolution.
The co-located event series will host shows in Silicon Valley, London and Amsterdam where it will bring together thousands of technology enthusiasts, decisions makers and CxO's from across a number of industries. The conference agenda will examine the impact of these technologies on industries including manufacturing, transportation, automotive, supply chain, logistics, finance, insurance, healthcare, retail, government, energy, utilities and more.
