Infineon Technologies Bipolar expanded its portfolio of thyristor/diode modules. The Prime Block 50mm modules feature solder-bond technology, and the 60mm modules use pressure-contact technology. Designed for highest performance when the desired current exceeds 600A in a 60mm footprint, or 330A in 50mm. Targeting industrial AC and DC drives as well as uninterruptible power systems (UPS).

Optimized for better thermal resistance and higher operational temperatures, Prime Block achieves the highest power density in its respective footprint. The pressure-contact modules provide best-in-class blocking stability, and the solder-bond modules fully undergo an X-ray monitoring after the soldering process.

Deployed in thyristor/thyristor and thyristor/diode topologies in the 60mm housing, the devices have a blocking voltage of either 1600V or 2200V in current ratings from 700 A to 820 A. The 50 mm variant is offered in the topologies thyristor/thyristor, thyristor/diode and diode/diode, with blocking voltages of 1600V, 1800V, and 2200V, supporting current ratings up to 390 A.
