OmniVision announced the release of the OS02G10, a security image sensor that provides low-light pixel performance for cameras requiring 1080p.
OmniVision announced the release of the OS02G10, a security image sensor that provides low-light pixel performance for cameras requiring 1080p. The sensor features a 2.8-micron pixel, which is built on OmniPixel®3-HS architecture.
The company decided to use 12-in wafers rather than the usual 8-inch wafers typically used in 2MP, 1080p sensors. Per the company, this enables it to better address demands for this resolution. The resolution is still one of the more popular in growing markets for IoT security cameras and industrial or commercial surveillance cameras.
“The OS02G10 builds on the success of our previous-generation OmniPixel 3-HS sensor, which has been widely adopted in the mainstream security markets,” said senior marketing manager for the security segment at OmniVision Cheney Zhang, in a press release. “With this new generation, we have significantly improved low-light performance while continuing to offer the market greater value in the popular 1/2.9” optical format.”
Other features per the release include the following:
- 15-degree CRA
- Integrated dynamic defective pixel correction algorithm
- Two-lane MIPI interface
- 2MP, 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second
