LAS VEGAS. MediaTek has released the MT8175 AI vision platform for smart cameras and the MT8518 AI voice platform for speech recognition applications.

The MT8175 AI vision platform delivers fast, precision image capture by integrating an image signal processor (ISP) and AI processing unit (APU) in a single device, enabling an increase in performance over competing image capture solutions at lower power consumption. Beyond smart displays, this technology can be applied to smart cameras on the edge.

The MT8518 voice assistant device SoC provides a 10x improvement in standby time for voice wakeup, far-field and local voice commands, and speaker identification. This capability enables more seamless processing for applications that rely on both cloud and edge processing.

The MT8518 also delivers 2x longer playback time compared to the previous generation.
