OnLogic released its Helix Series of industrial computers. The new computer series is powered by Intel 10th gen processors and is both a small form factor fanless system (HX500) and hybrid fanless (HX600). They can be configured with GPUs, I/O or expansion cards, and added storage.
"Edge computing has emerged as the ideal middle ground between the power of the cloud and the efficiency and accessibility of on-site data gathering and processing," said head of product management at OnLogic JP Ishaq, in a press release. "The Helix Series combines our team's years of experience in industrial computing with Intel's latest CPU technology, to create a pair of systems that have the power, connectivity and configurability to be the ultimate 'single platform for everything' in our customers' factory, products or project."
The new series is not limited to lower wattage mobile central processing unit (CPU). This is due to a passively cooled chassis design, allowing the system to be configured up to an Intel Core i9 processor.
Other features per the release include extended operating temperature ranges, triple independent display support, Intel vPro with AMT, Intel Virtualization Technology for Directed I/O (Intel VT-d) and Intel Rapid Storage Technology (Intel RST), to enable RAID, and protect from data loss.
Further, both the Helix 500 and 600 are able to be configured with Windows operatin systems or Ubuntu Linux. The company announced it plans to add imaging options for software partners.
The company will host an online even August 4, to highlight the features of the Helix series.
