Embedded Computing Design's Best in Show at the First All-Digital embedded world

Embedded Computing Design is pleased to announce all 12 winners, across six categories, of this year's Best in Show at the embedded world trade show. The show, which is normally hosted in Nuremberg, Germany, is all-digital this year.

DDR4 3200 32GB Mini RDIMM VLP – Innodisk
The DDR4 3200 32GB Mini RDIMM VLP has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. The memory solution, which comes packed with 30μ” Gold Fingers and include single bit error correction and a register, was designed to operate in next-gen networking and edge computing. Being that it is a low-profile design, it is ideal for use in 1U systems.
KIOXIA Automotive UFS 512GB – KIOXIA
The KIOXIA Automotive UFS 512GB has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. This JEDEC Version 2.1 solution supports -40°C to +105°C operational temperatures and complies with AEC-Q100 Grade 2 requirements. Offering reliability needed by challenging automotive applications, it features next-gen functions including refresh, thermal control, and extended diagnosis.
PV140-25 4TB PCIe 2.5" SSD – Apacer Technology
The PV140-25 4TB PCIe 2.5" SSD has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. Apacer technology said this SSD is the fastest of its kind designed with U.2 mechanical dimensions and provides full compliance PCIe Gen3 x4 interface and NVMe 1.3 specifications. Further, it features a PCIe controller which provides data transfer capabilities that reach up to 574,000/266,000 and 3,340/1,175MB/s in IOPS and sequential read/write. By utilizing 3D NAND, it offers capacity up to 3,840GB.

Embedded Workbench for Arm (Extended) – IAR Systems
The Embedded Workbench for Arm (Extended) has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. As the leading toolchain for Arm Cortex-based applications, it has now been extended to support a range of 64-bit processors. In addition to optimizing build tools, it also offers a number of debug and analysis capabilities such as complex code and data breakpoints, runtime stack analysis, call stack visualization, code coverage analysis, and integrated monitoring of power consumption.

SiT9501 Differential MEMS Oscillator – SiTime
The SiT9501 Differential MEMS Oscillator has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. As its name implies, the oscillator is based on SiTime’s third generation MEMS technology. Further, it delivers performance for 100G - 800G optical modules. Some applications ideal for the SiT9501 include datacenter switches, telecom routers, edge servers, AI/graphics cards, and storage controllers.

BeamXR 5G Smart Repeater – Movandi
The BeamXR 5G Smart Repeater has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. Built on the company’s BeamXR mmWave technology, it’s the industry’s first smart-active repeater solution that enhances coverage and closes the gap in 5G mmWave coverage. It boosts signals, providing the ability to penetrate walls and buildings, in addition to bending around buildings. This helps minimize line-of-sight problems that used to require bulky antenna designs.
Morse Micro 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow technology – Morse Micro
The Morse Micro 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow technology has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. The new Wi-Fi technology feature the MM61xx family of SoCs, which incorporates radio, PHY, and MAC, in addition to an optional host applications processor. Further, it is designed in compliance with the sub-1 GHz IEEE 802.11ah standard to power the IoT.

NXP eIQ Machine Learning Software Development Environment – NXP Semiconductor
The NXP eIQ Machine Learning Software Development Environment has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. This development environment provides the required enablement to develop and deploy machine learning-based algorithms, models, and applications on NXP EdgeVerse™ processors. It further provides a choice of GUI or command line interface. It includes data collection and curation tools, model performance profiling and optimization tools, among other capabilities.
WSEI/154A: Wireless Sensor Edge Intelligence Technology Stack – SSV Software Systems
The WSEI/154A: Wireless Sensor Edge Intelligence Technology Stack has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. The WSEI/154A was developed for multidisciplinary tasks such AI-based data analysis and cybersecurity. It can perform a number of tasks, ranging from sensors to automatic decision-making. Additionally, it’s based on wireless sensors using the IEEE802.15.4 standard and is structured into the three subsections: sensing endpoint, gateway, and IoT platform (cloud).
Lanner NGC-ready Edge AI Platform – Lanner Electronics
The Lanner NGC-ready Edge AI Platform has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. This Edge AI platform was designed for secure remote operation and accelerated workloads with the Tesla T4 Tensor core GPU. Further, it’s validated and edge-ready for streamlined NGC deployments. The NGC-ready Edge AI Platform features a NVIDIA GPU CLOUD, which fast tracks edge AI solutions.
MAX78000 Neural Network Accelerator Chip – Maxim Integrated
The MAX78000 Neural Network Accelerator Chip has been selected by Embedded Computing Design as a “Best in Show” recipient at this year’s all-digital embedded world conference. This low-power neural network accelerated microcontroller moves AI to the edge without compromises in battery-powered IoT devices. The chip has enhanced run-time for battery-powered AI applications as it executes AI inferences at less than 1/100th the energy of other embedded solutions. The power improvements do not compromise latency or cost.
