Prophesee Launches Metavision, the First Event-Based Vision Sensor

Prophesee?s Metavision sensor is first mass production chip to allow commercial-scale adoption of breakthrough machine vision technology in Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT.

Prophesee’s Metavision is the first industry-standard packaged chip that uses Event-Based Vision technology.  

This third-generation version has undergone testing and development in the last five years and contains a Prophesee-enabled VGA-resolution sensor.  

This new packaged version focuses on camera developers that create next-generation vision in industrial automation and IoT systems including robots, inspection equipment, monitoring and surveillance devices.

It also employs Prophesee’s neuromorphic vision technology to provide machine vision capabilities for many use models such as ultra high-speed part counting, vibration measurement and monitoring or kinematic monitoring for predictive maintenance. It also yields exceptional speed, dynamic range, data volume and power efficiency.
