e-con Systems Inc., a leading camera solutions company, launched Conversa (See3CAM_CU38) - 3.4MP Custom Lens fixed focus USB 3.0 (UVC/UAC) camera with built-in stereo microphone for crystal clear sound.

Conversa is provided with an S-mount (M12) lens holder that enables customers to choose a lens of their choice. It streams FHD (1920 x 1080) at 60 fps and HD (1280 x 720) at 60 fps in both uncompressed UYVY and compressed MJPEG formats. Conversa is based on e-con's most popular low light USB camera, See3CAM_CU30. Considering the demand for a camera with microphone in several applications, e-con Systems have introduced this built-in stereo microphone support for our hugely popular low light camera, See3CAM_CU30.

As the name implies, Conversa is ideal for customer applications such as indoor and outdoor video conference, doorbell camera, in-vehicle surveillance, action camera to record both audio and video during movement, rescue AGV and so on.
 
"Based on e-con's proprietary FPGA interfacing IP, the Conversa is part of the new family of USB3.0 cameras with UVC and UAC functionality built-in for applications that require both video and audio," said Ashok Babu, President of e-con Systems Inc.

"The FPGA interfacing IP can be customized to aggregate a wide range of sensors that can be connected to USB UVC cameras," he added.

Conversa houses a high-performance Image Signal Processor chip (ISP) that performs all the auto functions (Auto White Balance, Auto Exposure control) in addition to a complete image signal processing pipeline, which provides best-in-class images and video and the MJPEG compression. Conversa's superior low light sensitivity enables work in extreme lighting conditions.
 
Conversa is plug-and-play in both Windows and Linux without requiring additional drivers. In Windows, the camera is exposed as a DirectShow device, and in Linux as a V4L2 capture source. e-con Systems sample Linux application (QtCAM) and Windows application (e-CAMView) use the standard UVC/UAC protocol to access the camera controls. The e-CAMView, Windows DirectShow based sample video viewer application enable controls such as brightness, contrast, sharpness, saturation, gamma, gain, exposure (Manual and Auto) and white balance (Manual and Auto).
