Integration of Titanium Cloud into Wind River Chassis Portfolio upgrades solution for autonomous drive development.
LAS VEGAS. Wind River has announced enhancements to its Wind River Chassis portfolio. Wind River Chassis includes the VxWorks real-time operating systems (RTOS) certified to ISO 26262 ASIL-D by TÜV SÜD, and Wind River Linux. The enhancements include integration of Wind River Titanium Cloud virtualization software.
Wind River Titanium Cloud provides high reliability, low-latency support for demanding computing and communications networks. It includes an application-ready software platform that runs virtualized applications and services with high uptime and low cost.
The technology has been integrated in Wind River Chassis to support autonomous cars, which must constant sense and communicate high volumes of data with each other and infrastructure systems. This helps reduce the cost and complexity of adding more computing hardware to vehicles themselves.
“In order for autonomous driving to reach mass production, it will require ultra-low latency and dynamic compute architectures for the cloud as well as in the car,” says Marques McCammon, Vice President of Automotive at Wind River. “The combination of our automotive and carrier grade virtualization technologies can provide a flexible and secure cloud-based infrastructure that can be deployed anywhere in the network.”
