Keysight Technologies announced the release of its KS833A2A event-based power analysis software.

The purpose of the software is to help optimize the battery life of IoT devices.

Benefits of the KS833A2A per a company press release include:

  • Ability to capture the dynamic current consumption of an IoT device.

  • Automatic correlation of the charge consumption profile to the radio frequency/direct current (RF/DC) event of a subsystem.

  • Automatic calculation of battery life based on the charge consumption profile.

  • Easy re-testing to verify design changes and the impact to battery life.

  • Quantify, systematically and objectively the improvement in current consumption.

Furthermore, the software provides a visualization tool and data logging mode with Keysight’s PathWave software. This allows users to obtain up to eight days of data, which will provide information on device behavior and charge consumption.
