Software leader?s ability to scale enables new Chinese automaker to bring its first electric vehicle to market within tight timeline.
Elektrobit (EB) has provided basic software design, development and integration services for electronic control units (ECUs) for Weltmeister (WM) Motor’s first electric vehicle, the WM EX5, a compact SUV.
EB designed and developed the new vehicle’s communication systems supporting diagnostics and AUTOSAR network management, as well as provided vehicle software products to support over-the-air (OTA) updates, which were first initiated in the development of the EX5.
WM Motor is employing EB tresos, which implements AUTOSAR- and OSEK/VDX-compliant basic software for automotive ECUs, satisfying WM Motor’s specific requirements.
“It has been exciting and rewarding to partner with WM Motor in developing and designing key systems for their first vehicle,” said Elektrobit’s EVP, Head of Projects, Christian Reinhard. “WM Motor is one of the many young automakers that are exploring new ways of producing vehicles, really shaking things up in terms of development approaches and time to market. We’re proud to have worked alongside the WM team and their suppliers to bring the EX5 to production.”
