IAR Systems, Secure Thingz and Renesas Electronics Join Forces for Reliable Industrial IoT Security Solutions
November 19, 2018
Press Release
IAR Systems, Secure Thingz, and Renesas Electronics Corporation announced their collaboration to secure industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
IAR Systems, Secure Thingz, and Renesas Electronics will collaborate on secure industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications by developing new solutions that combine each company’s strengths. IAR Systems’ leading software development technology, Secure Thingz’ advanced IoT security expertise, and Renesas Electronics’ secure semiconductor solutions will allow users to create vigorous IoT systems.
To meet security and reliability requirements, Secure Thingz’ Embedded Trust, their security development environment that controls the IAR Embedded Workbench IDE from IAR Systems, will maintain Renesas microcontrollers (MCUs) when Embedded Trust is introduced to the industry in 2019. The hardware and software combination will help organizations maintain their security, intellectual property (IP) and data.
“To really deliver on the promise of the IoT, embedded applications will need to include security from [the] start, both in hardware and software,” said Stefan Skarin, IAR Systems’ CEO. “IAR Systems’ long-standing collaboration with Renesas has resulted in a number of successful activities and solutions. Now with connected IoT devices all around us and ongoing security threats, we as suppliers need to help our customers in the best way we can. IAR Systems and Secure Thingz are working together to make superior security available for all, and we are pleased to have Renesas with us on this journey.”
