Based on Intrinsic ID SRAM PUF technology, QuiddiKey provides a unique, unclonable fingerprint identity to IoT devices without the need for a discrete security chip.

SUNNYVALE, CA. IDT has licensed Intrinsic ID’s QuiddiKey digital authentication IP for use in wireless charging solutions. Based on Intrinsic ID SRAM PUF technology, QuiddiKey provides a unique, unclonable fingerprint identity to IoT devices without the need for a discrete security chip.

QuiddiKey internally generates a root key that anchors all other keys and security operations within a connected system. However, that key is never stored, and is instead reconstructed using an activation code and startup characteristics of a particular SRAM device. This is achieved in real-time, and provides a high level of security for specific devices while providing no value to others.

“This strong anchor of trust singularly enables our customers to maximize their revenue and reassure their customers with the ability to hold counterfeits at bay,” says Dr. Amit Bavisi, Senior Director of SoC Mobile Engineering, Wireless Power, IDT. “An additional, and more important, benefit is that the use of strong unclonable authentication for legitimate branded devices keeps consumers safe from charging hazards with counterfeits, which may not comply with industry-standard safety requirements.”
