u-blox announced that iWave Systems selected the u-blox JODY-W2 multiradio module for its i.MX8 SOM and SBC designs.
The solutions are integrated platforms that were designed for multimedia-specific applications. A dual cortex A72, quad cortex A53 cores, dual GPU systems, and a 4K H.265 capable VPU delivers the solutions with computing power.
For diverse needs of wireless connectivity, the JODY-W2 provides the i.MX8 solutions with the ability of concurrently delivering IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Per a company press release, iWave’s i.MX8 QuadMax SMARC system-on-module computing platform goes into production in October 2020. Those interested can see the solution in action at the all-virtual NXP Connects event Oct. 20-22.
