Servotronix Partners with STXI Motion to Release softMC Compact Microcontroller

Servotronix, in partnership with STXI Motion, released the softMC compact microcontroller.
With STXI’s ethernet/IP interface, the microcontroller allows OEM PLCs to control an array of motion control components such as robots, drives, and motors.
Furthermore, the controller provides Industry 4.0 machine-to-machine communication while reducing the cost of motion control system design. softMC also allows for packaging machine builders to interface with Rockwell Automation PLCs and EtherNet/IP networks.
According to the company, a centralized method for designing and integrating additional motion axes and/or robotics capabilities lets machine builders design and use standard robot models such as delta, SCARA, and cartesian/gantry.
Additionally, a decentralized method is featured, which allows machine builders to customize a system using motors and drive from STXI Motion’s product portfolio.
softMC further provides the ability of robotics control and gateway to motion with communication amongst motor technologies and feedback devices.
