SEGGER, in partnership with Renesas, announced its product portfolio is available for the Renesas RE Family of MCUs.
The portfolio includes development tools, software, and production tools, which will allow for firmware development for the Arm-based MCUs.
Two tools that will generate small, efficient application code are the Embedded Studio IDE and SEGGER’s compiler and linker.
Further, the J-Link debug probe offers fast flash download, which includes a large number of breakpoints in flash memory.
Additionally, the company is offering an efficient RTOS with communication, security, GUI, and IoT software designed for embedded systems. SystemView, the systems verification tool, reveals the true runtime behavior of the application during development.
According to a company press release, the power efficiency of the Renesas RE Family MCUs (including the RE01-256K), combined with the low resource usage of SEGGER software, minimizes or sometimes even removes the need to recharge or replace batteries. This combined efficiency could have far reaching effects; for home and building automation, smart farming, factories, a wide range of medical devices, wearable applications and more.
