QuickLogic announced it has joined the Samsung Advanced Foundry Ecosystem (SAFE) as its newest member of the IP Partner Program. Because of the new partnership, the ArcticPro 3 embedded FPGA (eFPGA) from QuickLogic is now available on Samsung’s 28nm FD–SOI process.
ArcticPro 3 eFPGA IP was designed on the 28nm process, which gives a boost in performance and delivers ultra-low standby current leakage. Further, the fixed function blocks that include embedded memory and fracturable Multiply-Accumulate (MAC) blocks implement hardware accelerators for neural networks and additional computationally intense circuits.
Per the company, ArcticPro 3 is supported by QuickLogic’s conventional tools as well as the QuickLogic Open Reconfigurable Computing (QORC) open source development tools, giving designers full control over their system software development.
