Qualcomm recently released its Vision AI Development Kit, an Azure IoT Starter kit designed for running AI models on devices at the edge.

The kit is ideal for applications such as home monitoring cameras, security systems, and smart home devices with vision AI.

According to a company press release, the Vision AI Development Kit is certified to run with Microsoft Azure IoT and is built around the Qualcomm Vision Intelligence 300 Platform and includes camera processing software, hardware-accelerated inferencing of AI models, and SDKs for machine learning and computer vision. Developers can use the kit to prototype products in applications like industrial safety, manufacturing, logistics, retail, and home and enterprise security.

Further, the kit runs models that are built with Microsoft Azure Machine Learning (AML). Vision AI also runs on Azure services such as Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions, Azure Cognitive Services and Azure SQL Server for edge analytics and AI processing.

With the kit, users are able to combine Azure machine learning services from Microsoft with the edge computing power of the Vision Intelligence Platform from Qualcomm.
