TRINAMIC Motion Control unveiled a single-chip motor driver with StealthChop technology to enable virtually silent operation.
TRINAMIC Motion Control unveiled a single-chip motor driver with StealthChop technology to enable virtually silent operation. Serving two-phase stepper motors up to 1.2A RMS in a voltage range from 1.8V to 11V DC, the TMC2300 offers very low power consumption for an extended battery life.
TMC2300 features include:
-StealthChop2, a high-precision algorithm that produces drive waveforms, which enable motors to be nearly inaudible
-StallGuard, a motor load measurement to perform sensorless homing and detect mechanical obstacles
-CoolStep Sensorless, a load-dependent current control to optimize the motor's energy consumption on the fly, enabling energy savings of up to 80 percent over conventional motor drives
-A standby current draw of less than 50nA (typ)
-Single wire UART and Step/Dir interfaces
-Up to 256x microstepping
-Available in a compact QFN20 (3x3) package
