One of the aspects that is very important in the IoT and other Cloud-enabled devices is the importance of tracking. Transmitting information back and forth is of course the objective, but accurate tracking of data is a critical aspect in many applications today. Knowing where you are is a primary aspect of vehicle navigation and driving, for example.
This situation is exacerbated by the need to also track, locate, and monitor assets that are not necessarily in or on the vehicle, such as goods or products being transported, or in storage at checkpoints, and border crossings. This isn’t even considering all the peripheral location needs in a smart facility, tracking containers, machinery, and even refrigeration or industrial equipment that requires long-distance monitoring.
In this podcast, we sat down with Eitan Kirshenboim, ERM Advanced Telematics, who talked to us about the state of the industry and his company’s role in it. The company recently expanded its activities from telematics solutions for locating and tracking vehicles, drivers and passengers, adding IoT and Cloud-based services.
