Wolfspeed introduced their 5th-gen 1700V SiC Schottky diode (C5D), optimized for renewable energy, industrial power, and electric vehicle charging applications. The 1700V C5D is available in both bare die and packaged formats and features an optimized TO-247-4 Plus package that provides extra electrical isolation suitable for high-pollution environments.
Offering essentially no switching losses due to nearly zero reverse recovery and a low forward voltage drop, the C5D product family can also combine these features with a TO-247-2 package option. A direct drop-in replacement of Wolfspeed’s 3rd-gen 1700V product, the C5D family is available in 5A, 10A, 25A, and 50A versions.
