Analog Devices, a leading global high-performance analog technology company, has won a 2020 Transatlantic Growth Award from BritishAmerican Business
Hayes, UK (10 June 2020) – Analog Devices, a leading global high-performance analog technology company, has won a 2020 Transatlantic Growth Award from BritishAmerican Business, the trade body which promotes trade between the two countries, in the category of ‘US launch or expansion in the UK’.
The award recognizes Analog Devices’ opening in 2019 of a new headquarters building in Hayes, near Heathrow airport, replacing the company’s smaller offices in Weybridge, Surrey and Marlow, Buckinghamshire. The development of the new HQ was a substantial investment by Boston, Massachusetts-based Analog Devices in the UK market.
Analog Devices was one of just five US-based companies to be recognized in the US launch or expansion category. Other winners of Transatlantic Growth Awards in 2020 include ExxonMobil, Kimberly-Clark, Diageo and National Grid.
The location of the new Hayes office is an important signal of Analog Devices’ commitment to the UK. Benefiting from fast links to the center of London, it brings the company closer to the capital’s workforce, entrepreneurs and technology start-ups, and investment community.
The UK office also supports collaboration between UK employees and customers and Analog Devices’ employees in the Boston head office, which is easily accessible via direct flights from Heathrow to Boston’s Logan international airport. Operating as a hub for global collaboration, the UK HQ facilitates links for UK customers with sales offices and design centers across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, in locations such as Munich, Paris and Valencia.
Commenting on winning the Transatlantic Growth Award, Mike Britchfield, Analog Devices’ European Vice President of Sales, said: ‘Few US companies in the semiconductor industry have been as established in the UK as long as Analog Devices, and the ties between its US home and its UK operation continue to deepen. The opening of a new UK base in 2019, a huge investment by Analog Devices, was made in large part because it will help facilitate the movement of ideas, colleagues, products and solutions between the UK and US, as well as in the wider EMEA region. I’m delighted that the scale of Analog Devices’ commitment to the UK has been reflected in the Transatlantic Growth Award.’
The strength of Analog Devices’ commitment to the UK market is reflected in the way that the new HQ has been designed, configured and equipped. Featuring a bold, contemporary aesthetic, the office building is decorated with artworks which highlight the building’s previous role as a vinyl record factory producing discs from artists such as the Beatles and the Rolling
Stones. As well as office space for employees, it includes spare workspace for visiting colleagues, training suites, and a generous provision of meeting space for use with customers and partners.
Analog Devices’ intention is for the building to become a destination which UK customers, suppliers and partners and colleagues from across the Atlantic will want to return to again and again, once business travel restrictions that are currently in force are lifted.
