Alphacore has received SBIR Phase II funding from the Department of Energy to continue developing two critically demanded rad hard products:
First, a Radiation Hardened High Speed Camera and Imaging System: a radiation-tolerant, triggerable, high speed imaging chip, and a complete camera system, for investigating rapidly occurring phenomena in radiation environments. With 10,000 frames per second and 100Gb/s total output data rate capabilities, it is ideally suited for electron beam monitoring in particle accelerator facilities, but the complete camera’s inherent high sensitivity also benefits healthcare, industrial thermal imaging for machine vision, and defense markets.
Second, a Multiple-Channel Readout Integrated Circuit: a rad hard user-friendly Readout IC, which offers 16-32 high-performance channels of 12-bit, 100MSPS, 40mW pipelined ADCs needed for nuclear physics and high energy physics low power photon counting detectors. Each channel has a precision analog front end, with a low-noise preamp and shaping amplifier that deliver critical resolution for emerging sensor applications, and high-performance imaging systems. This low-cost CMOS rad hard ROIC solution is also ideal for emerging LIDAR and 3-D imaging applications, plus defense and aerospace systems.
