Congatec introduced new application-ready platforms for tactile internet applications over public broadband as well as private IP networks.
The new platforms, combined with the Intel Time Coordinated Computing (TCC), supports time sensitive networking. This complements TSN ethernet standards based on the newest Intel IP technology.
Per the company, the platform’s goal is to reduce latency and minimize jitter in real-time synchronized processes. Furthermore, the platform is ideal for digitizing process-centric industries, critical infrastructure, and Industry 4.0 environments.
A key benefit is that open standard IP protocols can be utilized across all layers of the automation pyramid.
Based on the COM Express Type 6 modules, the platforms come equipped with either the 11th Gen Intel Core processors (Tiger Lake) or Intel Atom x6000E Series processors (Elkhart Lake) and offers Ethernet connectivity with TSN support via multiple Gigabit Ethernet or 2.5 GbE ports.
