Coffee Lake series – Industrial PCs of the 8th generation

Five years have passed since the market launch of the 4th generation of Intel CoreTM i CPUs. A large number of industrial PCs are still equipped with this technology today. By contrast, industrial and embedded PCs with the 8th generation are only beginning to get rolling.

ICP Deutschland's product portfolio, however, already offers a whole series of industrial PCs with Coffee Lake CPUs. They range from Mini-ITX and ATX motherboards via a PICMG 1.3 CPU card to a modular embedded PC that can be used “headless” or combined with a display kit as a panel PC. What all these products have in common is a multi-core architecture of up to six cores with high performance. This is clearly demonstrated by various benchmark performance tests. Compared to the i7-4770T CPU, the i7-8700T CPU achieves a 45% performance increase with a 28% reduction in waste heat or in other words a 10W TDP reduction. The G3D Mark test showed that the graphics performance of the integrated graphics card Intel UHD 630 increases by 67% compared to the Intel HD 4600. In addition, the Coffee Lake products convince with memory up to 64GB, latest expansion slots such as M.2 PCIe x4 NVMe or third generation PCIe x16. Furthermore there is the possibility to use expansion cards for ThunderboltTM 3 with transfer speeds of up to 40Gb/s. The series is also designed for current operating systems. A switch to Coffee Lake is therefore clearly associated with advantages. ICP Deutschland supports customers with hardware and software to make a successful switch possible.
