Xilinx released two new real-time computing video appliances for easy-to-use, ultra-high-density video transcoding applications. The appliances, which are based on the Xilinx® Real-Time (RT) Server reference architecture, enable providers to deliver applications that include eSports, streaming platforms, video conferencing, distance learning, among other things.
They were designed for edge and on-premise compute-intensive workloads for video channel density, throughput, and latency critical requirements. According to the company, , the new Xilinx Real-Time Video Appliances feature optimized hardware architectures and software to deliver the industry’s highest channel density and lowest latency performance.
There are two pre-configured options that integrate Xilinx Alveo data center cards, high channel density video appliances, and ultra-low bitrate video appliances.
