Marvell?s second generation 100BASE-T1 exceeds automotive electromagnetic interference requirements with low-power dissipation and previous generation pin compatibility.
Marvell announced the launch of its second generation 88Q1110/88Q1111 100BASE-T1 automotive Ethernet PHY with the lowest power consumption in the industry. According to the company, connected cars today require more in-vehicle, high-speed data applications than before, prompting the need for innovative automotive solutions to move data around the car.
Marvell provides a portfolio of automotive qualified switches, PHYs, and controller solutions that are implemented into various in-vehicle domains such as infotainment, gateway, and ADAS. The launch of Marvell’s second generation 100BASE-T1 PHY broadens the physical layer transceiver product line which spans from 100Mbps to multi-gigabit and enables reliable and standards-based platforms optimized to address data-intensive applications.
“Marvell’s new family of automotive Ethernet PHYs achieves robust performance and exceeds automotive electromagnetic interference requirements in noisy environments with very low power dissipation and pin compatibility to the previous generation 100BASE-T1 PHY,” said Amir Bar-Niv, vice president of marketing, Automotive Business Unit at Marvell Semiconductor, Inc. “This makes the new lowest power PHY an optimal choice for low-power deployments in telematic control, instrumentation cluster, ADAS and audio amplifier applications.”
In addition to low-power capability, the second generation PHY also leverages existing designs, ensuring backwards pin compatibly to previous solutions already in production. Also supporting the OPEN Alliance TC10 Sleep Mode, enabling a universal wake-up and sleep signal to save power when not in use.
The Marvell 88Q1110/88Q1111 is currently sampling.
