On March 1st, at the first all-digital embedded world exhibition and conference, Holger Zeltwanger from CAN in Automation (CiA) will discuss the features of the CAN XL protocol including the SDU type and all the other features usable for higher-layer protocols.
CAN XL separates the priority functions (11-bit ID) and the addressing (32-bit acceptance field). In order to achieve a reliable communication (true Hamming distance of 6), the CAN XL protocol introduced a cascaded CRC protection.
The session, “CAN XL – the Next Generation of CAN” will also discuss the future developments of intended higher-layer protocols, for example support of the ISO 15765-2/5 standards as well as homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-PDUs (protocol data unit). To learn moare about CAN XL controllers, CAN XL SIC transceivers, and more, attend this session.
